This is an oval shape Burmese jadeite bangle bracelet I purchased for myself during a shopping trip in China near the Burma border in the year 2003, directly from the jade carver. The size is 59x51.5mm inside diameter, and slender 9.2mm wide. The basic color is a medium green with lots of variation in the jade stone, and a soft "kiss" of yellow. This is like a chameleon, the yellow color is more obvious when light shines through it, and softer color when it's on my wrist. The yellow is natural color you can see it through the area that has the veins. Yellow jade color is related to spleen meridian for balance of stomach, intestines and managing emotions of fear, anxiety. When I have worn this jade bangle to gem trade shows, Chinese women stare at it, some grab my wrist, and they always ask if they can buy it from me, or exchange for some of the goods they are selling.
When I purchased it in China, I didn't want the seller to know that I wanted it for myself, or he would have made it a higher price. There are no prices on jade, it's all about bargaining. So I didn't try it on, and it's just slightly too large for me. It's prices low so it can be on a wrist, not in a box.
One only, and from Ying Yu's Jewelry Box collection.
